Biography

Ellie Hérnandez was born in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. She grew up in Magdalena, Jalisco, a nearby town. She has lived in Los Angeles since she immigrated to California. Ellie earned both her B.A. in Hispanic Literature with emphasis in Chicano literature in 1988 and her M.A. in Hispanic Literature in 1990 from UCLA.
